2. Log on with your Smartcard (DELL Keyboard reader) …and select your Registration Authority Agent role

3. Go to the NHS Spine Portal Click “Launch NCRS Smartcard Management Service” An intermediate screen will appear 

4. Enter your PIN number again and click “Logon”

5. Click Unlock Card (Unrestricted)

6. Insert the locked card into the second (external) card reader It will check the owner of the card and display their name – click “OK” Jo Smith

7. Ask the user to input their preferred PIN number in both boxes, then click “Unlock” Note: The PIN number is between 4 and 8 characters long, it can be both letters and numbers but it is case sensitive - for simplicity sake, we recommend a 4 digit PIN number (like a bank PIN).

8. Final screen. Click “Log Off” and remove smartcards
