A Level Reforms Review of A Level qualification with A Level and AS Level decoupled AS and A Level qualifications will be assessed at the end of the course AS qualifications are designed to be taught in the first year of the A Level course Non-exam assessment will only be used where the content or skills cannot be assessed in any other way – most AS qualifications will be exam only The exception is that two grades will be awarded for Science subjects – an exam grade and a practical grade which will be pass or fail There is a revised method for calculating A* at A Level
