How to Pack AVERAGE TEMP IN ATLANTA FIRST WEEK IN DEC: HIGHS IN UPPER 50’S, LOWS IN UPPER 30’S. WEAR COMFORTABLE CLOTHES ON BUS (FOR SLEEPING). YOU WILL HAVE A CHANCE TO CHANGE/FRESHEN UP AT BREAKFAST (USE YOUR CARRY-ON FOR CHANGE OF CLOTHES) COMFORTABLE CLOTHES/SHOES FOR FRIDAY - BUT SOMETHING THAT WOULD BE APPROPRIATE TO SEE A BROADWAY MUSICAL IN. (I’M MOST LIKELY WEARING KHAKIS, BOOTS, SWEATER). SATURDAY – YOU WILL DRESS FOR PARADE IN THE HOTEL. AFTER THE PARADE, YOU SHOULD CHANGE INTO COMFORTABLE THEME PARK APPROPRIATE CLOTHING. SUNDAY – DRESS WARM! WE WILL BE PLAYING IN SNOW BEFORE GOING HOME.

School stuff… Plan ahead… don’t get behind! Your teachers will get an from me later this week. Ms. Kennedy will have list - EXCUSED YOU (student), should check in with your A day teachers and receive missed work AHEAD of time There will be at least 18 hours on the bus for you to get work done. Use it wisely. We will be home late on Sunday. It is imperative that you go to school on Monday. If it helps… You are only missing one day of school this year rather than two. If you miss class BECAUSE OF band related event, you may make up a test in my class…. However; please don’t ask that b/c you missed a day of class b/c you were sick
9
Parking It would be preferred if no student cars were left in the parking lot. If student cars are here, park towards the back of the student parking lot. If parent cars are left here, park in the front visitors lot.
10
Student Safety and Security When in Atlanta, on tours, etc. – all students will be in chaperoned groups There is at least one chaperone per every four students Medication will be handled by chaperones only (students may carry epi-pens or inhalers on them if they are also permitted to do that in school) Chaperones will be sitting throughout the bus Chaperone and myself will have a copy of medical form. In an emergency they or myself will notify you immediately. Boys and Girls are separated in the hotel/on different floors or in different wings/hallways A security guard has been hired to monitor our hallways only, and will report to me with any problems Chaperones will tape students in
11
MONEY $ All meals are included Students may want some snacks on bus Cash is fine (keep somewhere safe) I would recommend getting a Pre-Paid Visa card (at Kroger, use your Kroger Community Rewards card) Souvenirs are up to you, but they have to fit in overhead compartment or in luggage Do not need, nor do I recommend bringing a lot of money
12
Carry-on luggage Permitted Needs to fit under bus seat or overhead compartment Should also be tagged/inspected Can bring a pillow with you on bus Can be left on bus while we are in hotel Movies are allowed, must be approved by teacher/admin on bus, and be PG 13 or under Gaming devices/laptops okay – but with earbuds. We are not responsible for them if they are lost/broken/stolen Needs to have change of clothes if you’re planning on wearing sweatpants/etc. for the overnight trip
