4 Achievements Chemical Engineering Department  A second Graduate PC Lab has been established in Bldg. 3.  Four Saudi faculty members have returned to the Department upon completion of their Ph.D. studies.

5 Achievements Civil Engineering Department  CE Graduate Program (Revised) has been approved by the University Academic Committee

6 Achievements Electrical Engineering Department  New graduate program in Telecommunication  New graduate program in electrical engineering  9 th IEEE Technical Exchange Meeting was held on April 16-17, 2002, KFUPM.

7 Achievements Mechanical Engineering Department  Dr. Ibrahim Dincer one of the ME Department faculty has become as: 1.An Editor-in-Chief of two international journals 2.A Regional Editor of three international journals

8 Achievements Mechanical Engineering Department  Dr. Hasan Badr one of the ME Department faculty has become as Chief Editor of AJSE Special Issue on "Heat and Fluid Flow to be published in December 2002.

9 Achievements Petroleum Engineering Department  Revised B.S. Program both in Petroleum Engineering and Applied Petroleum Engineering has been approved by the University Board.  Two students presented their technical papers at the European Student Paper Contest, 2001 and were awarded 3rd and 4th prizes.  The department organized a ceremony of the PETE Endowment Chair titled "Water Flooding and Improved Oil Recovery
