2 History SharePoint originally chosen for AIAA website Started with committee/section portals Implemented 2009 Transitioned to new database, NetForum  Integrated with SharePoint Decided to use different software for website Usability and functionality issues apparent early 2

3 History (cont’d) Saw some replacement possibilities in summer 2013 Had formal input from TCs, and casual input from sections, regions, committees, and staff Took an early look at one possible software Decided to collect formal data on current and future usage 3

4 Survey Conducted survey in Dec 2014/Jan 2015  Sent to 373 recipients, 28% responded  Of those that responded: – 50% from TC’s – 47% from Sections –~3% from other (i.e. Standing or other committees) An internal cross-department team was established who identified the top requirements for a new tool (based on survey results) The team viewed initial vendor demos 4

5 Next steps Narrowed the viable tool options from 6 down to 3:  Higher Logic  Small World Labs  Socious NEXT STEPS  Have further demos and discussion with 3 vendors  Request member feedback  Identify the tool to implement  Provide a funding request either BEFORE the August board meeting or AT the August board meeting 5
