Troop Proceeds New this year! We now have a tiered level troop proceeds plan that is based solely on the troops box-per-girl average. The more the troop sells the more proceeds they earn! Troop girls should vote on which plan they want: Proceeds with recognitions or higher proceeds with patches only. Troops that are interested in the 50 cent proceeds plan should vote on the proceeds plan prior to the start of the sale; adult volunteers should not make this choice for the girls. Girls in all troops earn patches and are eligible for Superstar Destinations regardless of the troop’s proceeds plan. Box-per-girl average Proceeds Rate 1-149 $0.50 With All $0.58 Recognitions $0.60 350+ $0.63 $0.55 Patches Only $0.65 $0.67

16 2010 Cookie Sale Training for Families
Cookie Money Collect money when cookies are delivered- Check with your Troop Cookie Manager for dates when they want you to turn in money Cookies cannot be returned to the troop We cannot accept personal checks for more than $150 Only take checks from people you know and trust- you are responsible if their check bounces. Checks should be payable to our troop Troops are cautioned not to accept any checks – even from parents – for more than $200. Payments in excess of $200 should be made with cash, a cashiers or bank check, or money order. Troops should not give girls additional cookies until they have paid for at least half of their initial order. Tell your parents that the troop is required to pay for half of their initial order by March 2 so it’s extremely important for every girl to pay for at least half her order by then. To qualify for the Wii, Superstar Destinations and Top Seller acknowledgement a girl must pay her cookie bill in full by March 14 Once a parent signs for cookies, they cannot be returned to the troop, a cupboard, warehouse, traveling truck, or the council.

17 2010 Cookie Sale Training for Families

Keep track of how much cash you’ve collected and turned in with receipts from the Troop Cookie Manager Keep your receipts for everything for at least 3 months Girls should write their name in the Memo field or top left corner of each of their customers’ checks

18 2010 Cookie Sale Training for Families
Selling Safely Sell in neighborhoods where you know the people Sell during daylight hours Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies and Juniors should sell with an adult; older girls should sell with an adult or a buddy Do not enter the home of a stranger Do not give people your last name or address Practice pedestrian safety Troops should review Safety-Wise and help girls and adults understand how to participate in the cookie sale safely.

Messages to work/business distribution lists, and beyond a girl’s friends, family and known neighbors are not allowed.

20 2010 Troop Cookie Sale Training
Your troops have a customized web–based “business center!” Our Cookie Command Center, or COCO, lets girls manage their cookie activities online. Set and track goals: Girls determine their individual cookie goals. They record their progress toward goals, and set stretch goals along the way. Girls choose which recognitions they want to achieve and see the ones they can earn if they sell at higher levels Create a plan: Girls determine what activities they will undertake as part of their cookie program, choosing among a list of recommended activities and/or adding their own. Each activity is tied to one of the 5 Essential Skills. Girls earn and collect “5 Skills Bling” when they complete planned activities. Use marketing tools : Girls can import a contact list and save this information from season to season. They can send e-cards to friends and family. Friends and family place orders online (girls still fulfill the order). Girls that send 15 or more online e-cards receive the Online Patch! Custom COCO Dashboard: Girls can upload their own image or choose a fun avatar to personalize their dashboard. The troop/group leader can also upload a team photo to COCO’s troop page. Custom Troop Dashboard: An ideal vehicle for volunteers to communicate with girls, COCO’s troop page allows volunteers to post messages about the cookie sale to girls and monitor the troop’s progress. Volunteers can help girls set goals and cheer them on! All past users accounts in COCO have been deleted. Everyone must reregister and create a new COCO account this year.
