Introduction to the dinosaur world! This is the prehistoric water dictionary. It explains neat water definitions and an intro to the dinosaur world. But in this dictionary we will be discussing the world of water dinosaurs. With the help of Google, animal planet, and prehistoric park I have created this dictionary. Now we will be learning about water dinosaurs and after, water definitions. Hello everyone and this is my prehistoric water dictionary. Please enjoy the definitions, fun facts, and pictures. Sit back, relax, and watch.

The water dinosaurs photo gallery

Fun facts about Dinosaurs Dinosaurs roamed the earth for 160 million years The word dinosaur comes from the Greek language meaning “terrible lizard”. Dinosaurs roamed on the earth until 65 million years when a mass extinction occurred. A person who study dinosaurs is called a paleontologist. Birds descended from a type of dinosaur called theropods The first dinosaur to be named was megalosaurus in 1824 Trex means tyrant lizard

Water definitions 1. Adhesion 2. Cohesion 3. Capillary action 4. hydrogen bond 5. Polarity 6. Significance of water density 7. Surface tension 8. Significance of waters specific heat 9. Universal solvent 10. Water cycle Fact: Human blood is made out of water

Adhesion (Ad-hez-on) Water sticking to other substances. Ex. Drops of water sticking to a plant. Water sticks to dinosaurs. Facts: adhesion can manually be switched on and off. Bonding with substances. Adhesion is any attraction process between dissimilar molecular species.

Cohesion (Co-hez-on) Water sticking to other water. Ex. Dinosaurs drink from big puddles. Facts: attractive forces between material bodies. Divided into layers.

Capillary action(Cap-ill-ar-I Ac- zhon) Tendency of a liquid rising in narrow tubes or drawn into small openings such as those between grains f rock. Ex. Fossils Facts: Ability of liquid to flow. Documented phenomenon.

Hydrogen bond (Hi-dro-gen Bo-nd) Form very easily, not very strong. Ex. Dinosaurs swimming in water Facts: Sticks to other atoms through a covalent bond. Attractive intermolecular force Exists between two partial electric charges of opposite polarity

Polarity (Po-lar-ity) Opposite sides causing imbalance. Ex. the reasons why water sticks to dinosaurs Facts: Its natural science. Study of matter. Motions through space time. Includes energy and force

Significance of water density (Sig- ni-fi-gance Of Wa-ta Den-si-ti Insulates water below it from the harsh temperatures above the ice. Ex. Marine, freshwater, plants, and animals are protcted as a result. Facts: Polar bears have fat that insulates them from the cold kind of like water density. Animals like the whale have insulated blubber.

Surface tension (Sur-fac Ten-zhon) Bonds holing water molecules together. Ex. Drops of water. Water dropper. Water dinosaurs floats because of this. Facts: Wetting is a phenomenon we se every day. A drop of water is surface tension.

Significance of waters specific heat (Sig-ni-fa-gance Of Wa-tahs Spe- ci- fic Heet) Allows temperature of lakes and oceans to change slowly. Ex. Protects marine life and earth’s climate Facts: It is 1 calorie/gram c=4.186. Water has the second highest specific heat capacity of any known.

Universal solvent (Uni-ver-sal Sol- vent) Water dissolves more substances than any other liquid. Ex. Sugar. Dinosaur’s buoyancy Facts: It can dissolve oil. Dipole characteristic of water makes universal solvent.

Water cycle (Wa-tah Ci-cle) Its simple. Evaporation, condensation, transpiration. How it worked in the past.

Fossil ending I hope you enjoy The prehistoric water dictionary. My favorite part was the dinosaur fun facts and the photo gallery. You also may have learned not just the dinosaurs but the aspects of water. I leave you with this message. Find the learning dinosaur in you.

Ending quote Humans and dinosaurs needed water every day without water humans would end up like the dinosaurs…..EXTINCT. So it’s important to drink water every day. So if you want to learn and stay healthy embrace the water cycle and every glass of water you take. Embrace and look up to water. With just water we can keep generations going for centuries to come! glass of water:
