States had bicameral legislatures. States had strong governors with veto power States had a bill of rights.

Accomplishments of the Articles of Confederation

Establish a firm alliance with France Sign the Treaty of Paris (1783) Northwest Ordinance- Plan of government for the western territories – Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota – Territory became a state if the population reached 60,0000 – Outlawed slavery in the territories – Government sells land to pay for war debts.
