Part of the Aristocracy social class. That’s why he was able to have the best clothes. Was admired by everyone Described as having wonderful agility and strength. Said he was “as fresh as the month of May.” Full of flowers. Courteous, lowly, and serviceable.

In the Canterbury Tales, the Squire is not really described. He is described enough to put a powerful picture of what the Squire is supposed to be. But he is made morally neutral. The judgment is left for us to decide how we want to look at him. He is, however, a good example of what boys of his age were like back then who were committed to becoming powerful knights.
