Most standard PC applications are document centric.
The user has data.
The application operates on some way on the data.
The user is given more data as output.
Characteristics of document centric applications:
The user input and output processes needn't be part of the operation. (ie data can be Loaded and Saved in a partially completed state.)
User looks after storage
The data (document) location is not fixed
Many applications working on a single document means access methods are not fixed .
Data can be viewed in any format .
