4. o Picasso was 14 when he moved with his family to Barcelona, Spain. o Picasso was 16 when he moved to Madrid to attend the Royal Academy of San Fernando. o Guernica painting meant peace. This painting can be seen in the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid. This work is seen as an amalgmation of pastoral and epic styles.

7.  Diego Velazquez was born on June 6 th, 1599 in Seville, Spain.  His field of expertise was painting.  Velazquez started up his artistic career in 1616.  One of his most famous paintings was called La Infanta Margarita.  This portrait was painted on a canvas.

8.  Just like the La Infanta Margarita, Diego’s favorite style of painting was baroque.  Velazquez used oil-based paints as his technique for most of his paintings.  Diego painted himself within La Infanta Margarita.  The dimensions of the portrait is 107 x 121 cm.  Diego passed on August 6 th, 1660 in Madrid, Spain.
