1 Light Loss Tests Update Aron Fish 22/02/06 Mice Tracker Phone Conference

2 LED Set-Up Red LED Held to station connectors by Dowels. Opal Glass used for diffuser, for ~uniform output. Stability test of LED (battery powered) output was found to differ by ~2% over 2 hours.

3 Camera & Bulkhead/D0 Set-Up For the tests all parameters keep constant. Distance (CCD- >Connector) CCD Digitizer settings. Lens settings.

4 Images A picture was taken of all 6 station connectors in turn. Then using code we integrated the pixel count numbers to get the light output ratio of the D0 connector/Internal Bulkhead

5 Results for Misalignment of 104 Station Connector 1 --> 24.7% decrease Station Connector 2 --> 23.5% decrease Station Connector 3 --> 23.9% decrease Station Connector 4 --> 23.3% decrease Station Connector 5 --> 23.9% decrease Station Connector 6 --> 25.4% decrease Overall loss for 104 = 24.1% (includes attenuation loss of clear fibre?) Geoff result for 104 = 22.6%

6 Conclusion & Next Steps We have started to quantify the results found by Geoff. We need to do the same for other bulkhead connectors.
