Agriculture Revolution “What was happening along that border was that Cain was killing Abel. The tillers of the soil were watering their field with the blood of Semitic herders.”
3
Takers vs. Leavers The Taker population (agriculturalist) have finally achieved settlement and to continue expanding they conquered land from the Leavers (shepherds). This is related to the Biblical story of Cain and Abel; where Cain is an agriculturist who offers his worst crop to God, while Abel the shepherd offers his best livestock.
4
Agriculture Revolution “In four thousand years the agricultural revolution that began in the land between the rivers has spread across Asia Minor to West and to the mountains in the North and East. And to the South it seems to have been blocked by what?”
5
The Decision to be Made “This is indeed the proper knowledge of the gods: the knowledge of who shall live and who shall die.”
6
Conclusion The gods were struggling to determine which animal shall continue to live well into the future and who shall die. The gods created the Tree of Knowledge in order to stop feeling incriminated for which animal should die. As a result this knowledge benefits the gods because they then have the immediate knowledge of who should strive.

The Gods “And this is what your revolution does for you: It puts you beyond the reach of that appalling nightmare. It puts you beyond the reach of the gods.”
