Wind energy Jessica Lawson- how wind energy better
Lauren Lonigro- how much wind energy cost James Rabon- were can wind energy work best Nick McDonough- how wind energy is made Tisha Allen- how wind energy work Timothy Mong- how is wind energy renewable Wind energy
2
Wind energy Wind energy is used to generate electricity instead of coal Wind energy is less harmful to the environment than coal and other fossil fuels Wind energy is received by the coast in wind turbines to be used for many things like heat, electricity, and many other places as well
3
Wind energy Wind energy helps save the use of fossil fuels
Wind energy uses renewable energy instead of nonrenewable energy Wind energy does not hurt the ozone layer like the use of fossil fuels More and more people are using wind energy
4
Wind Turbines Vs. Coal Factories
“Wind Turbines” are better for the planet because, coal factories burn coal witch causes smoke and makes our earth sicker than it already is. Wind turbines don't use any kind of smoke in which makes them better for our earth.

How is “Wind Energy” better for the earth???
Wind Turbines And The Environment!! Wind energy system operations do not generate air or water emissions and do not produce hazardous waste. Nor do they deplete natural resources such as coal, oil, or gas, or cause environmental damage through resource extraction and transportation, or require significant amounts of water during operation. Wind's pollution-free electricity can help reduce the environmental damage caused by power generation in the U.S. and worldwide. In 1997, U.S. power plants emitted 70% of the sulfur dioxide, 34% of carbon dioxide, 33% of nitrogen oxides, 28% of particulate matter and 23% of toxic heavy metals released into our nation's environment, mostly the air. These figures are currently increasing in spite of efforts to roll back air pollution through the federal Clean Air Act.
6
The Cost of Wind Energy The less expensive construction costs are,the lower the cost of energy. The higher the wind speed, the lower the cost of energy. The larger the wind farm, all other factors being equal, the lower the cost of energy.
7
The Cost of Wind Energy The cost of wind has dropped over the last 20 years. In the early 1980's,when the first turbines were installed, wind generated electricity cost as much as 30 cents per kilowatt-hour. Now, state-of-the-art wind power can generate electricity for less than 5 cents per kilowatt-hour.

Types of Wind Machines There are two types of wind machines
Turbines: used today based on the direction of the rotating shaft. Horizontal-axis: is the main wind machine used today. It's as tall as 20-story building with 3 blades that span 200 feet across.
10
How wind energy works Wind energy is another form of solar power ,because wind energy is heat from the sun. For explain: a fan if is not on and your window is open the wind can spin can spin the blade and create wind energy. t
11
Where does Wind Energy work best?
Wind energy works best in flat areas. Near open plains or fields. The western part of the United States will work good.
12
Can wind energy work best anywhere
Wind energy does not work best anywhere Wind energy cannot work best anywhere because the blades are about 200 hundred feet long and as tall as a 20 story building. Would this be a suitable place for wind energy?
13
How wind energy works Wind energy is just another form of solar energy that come
14
How wind energy works Wind energy is cause by the uneven heat of the earth surface by the sun i.e. Less at the poles and more at the equator. This heating is more rapid upon dry land when compared to the sea. The air get expanded and reaches high altitudes while the cool air comes down which blow as wind.
