1 Jointly offered by FOS and SOC beginning from July AY2004/05 (enrollment 20+20 students) A multi-disciplinary 4 year program involving 3 Faculty and 10 departments! Main objective: multidisciplinary education to produce graduates capable of algorithm design mathematical and statistical analysis biochemistry, biology/genetics, and wet-lab know- how.

4 The upper division specialized tracks will strengthen the student's knowledge in one of two major areas: IT track (SoC): Algorithmic design to facilitate the design of computationally efficient software and tools Scientific Computing track: Modeling and prediction of protein structures and its applications

5 Career Prospects: Any IT industries! A career in the pharmaceutical, biomedical or biotechnology industries To prepare students for pursuing graduate studies and research in bioinformatics.

6 Students should have good 'A' level passes or equivalent in Mathematics and either Biology, Chemistry or Physics. Students without 'A' level passes or equivalent in any of the three Science subjects (Biology/Chemistry/Physics) should have at least 'O' level or equivalent passes in them.

7 Submit the Application Form together with supporting documents to the School’s General Office at S16, Level 5 Application Deadline: 1 Aug 2004 Outcome of Application: 4 Aug 2004 Notification of outcome: NUS Mailbox or Phone DO NOT bid for modules in CORS before you are notified. LSM modules will be pre-allocated to all successful applicants.
