My career as a Marine Biologist Sam Mosley Fall 2013

Why I want to be a Marine Biologist I picked this career because I love animals. As well as studying how they act. I don’t want to be a veterinarian, but I want to work with animals. I will love being able to study animals, and possibly go out in the sea.

Job Description A usual day in marine biology is spent in a laboratory, writing results, and examining research results, which includes usually a forty hour work week, but more dedicated marine biologists put in more time.

Education or Training You cannot get this job directly out of high school, it requires at least a masters degree, but a doctorate in marine biology is recommended. I plan on going to the University of South Alabama. It requires no training.

Salary The average salary in the United States is $72,700. I plan on working in Alabama where the average salary is $63,130.

Job Outlook The outlook is low, it has an increase of six percent from 2010 to 2020. The job growth is positive. It will not be too hard to find a job

What I will wear to my job as a Marine Biologist.
