4 Activities - Resolve or status SysML licensing issue (Chun, David) in progress -Install Rational System Developer (all) complete -Detail SysML Metrics/measures (Chun, Chris J) in progress -Detail Huron EDD Model Metrics/performance (Chris C) in progress -Contact Aerospace (Chris C) in progress -Visit Huron (all) 11am Sunday 2/25/2007 -post MS project file on webCT (David) Complete

5 SysML Performance Metrics/Ratings What is rated User Interface - measures the effectiveness of the interface Modeling Capability – measure the ability of SysML to models complex systems Executable Performance – measures how fast the model executes Flexibility – measure how the model and its parameters adapts to modifications Learnability - measures the ease of use for first-time users How things are rated 0 – Very Poor 1 – Poor 2 – Below Average 3 – Average 4 – Good 5 – Very Good Performance Metrics # of hours/diagram Executable run time

6 Interesting Note on Revenue and Job Speed If we have a 50GB project, the price per GB is $2,250 so Revenue = $112,500 The revenue is now fixed! So if we can complete the project in 5 days we charge the same as if the project takes 10 days! If each 50GB job took 5 days, we could do two 50GB jobs in 10 days! So in this example the opportunity cost of having a slower system (50GB in 10 days,) is $112,500 So some of the important questions are: How quickly can each of the 3 systems complete jobs of various sizes? Where is the break even point for the increased speed to balance the investment in new capitol? How might different scenarios impact our financial model? Methodology: -First determine and decompose the parametric equations for the system -Then use system data to determine the distributions for the stochastic elements -Next run a Monte Carlo simulation to generate output -V&V the model and output -Finally, we’ll compare the three alternatives and do some sensitivity analysis We can show the baseline systems’ output for the next update! Hey Lets build a Model and Simulate Costs & Revenue!
