ARDC Party Infrastructure Project ›National Library of Australia (NLA) project funded by the Australian National Data Service (ANDS) ›The Aim: Adapt the NLA’s People Australia infrastructure so that the research sector could contribute and manage their party records and obtain NLA-issued persistent identifiers for their records about researchers and research organisations. › The Project 4

ARDC Party Infrastructure Project ›We need to provide the NLA with data so we can give our researchers persistent id’s ›Some important points to note: -This is easier said than done. -There is no single point for data – it is kept in a number of systems that do not effectively talk to each other. -No one is responsible for this What do we do now? 14

ARDC Party Infrastructure Project ›The Aim: To build a comprehensive record about a researcher, their outputs, affiliations, data and grants. ›It is hoped that this system will be installed next year 2012. ›Watch this space. Master Data Manager 15
