FAST FACTS Small private college (1300 students) located in Newton, MA Founded in 1899. The campus is a former estate. Very close to Boston, they offer a free shuttle seven days a week to the Newton Center t stop. Shuttle also goes to Legacy Place in Dedham.

FAST FACTS CONT. 25 majors, minors also available as well as some graduate programs 4+1 option for BA + MA Some interesting programs offered: dental hygiene and vet tech. These majors are more selective (ideally looking for at least a 3.0). There is an active dental clinic on campus which accepts patients from the community. Honors program available. These students have an honors advisor, they do one large project over their four years which cumulates in a portfolio and they also do a couple smaller projects. They are also in honors courses. There are also pre med and pre pharm tracks which are also more competitive for admission.

FAST FACTS CONT. Great career placement rate Many internship opportunities available Very career focused. Hands on learning is essential. 14:1 student to faculty ratio There are 4 colleges within the school: applied sciences, design, social sciences/humanities and business.

ADMISSION INFO While GPA and standardized test scores are considered, the fit of the student to the school is the most important factor Hingham stats for Mount Ida: average GPA is 2.8 and average SAT score is 940 out of 1600. COST Tuition, room and board: $45,000 100% of students get some type of merit aid. This is separate from need based aid, which students may also qualify for.

SUPPORTS All freshmen have individual success coaches Free professional tutors available for all students There is an academic success center as well as a writing center

STUDENT LIFE There are study abroad options 25 clubs and organizations 16 NCAA division 3 athletic teams

DORMS Students can choose to live in living/learning communities with other students with similar interests There are 5 residence halls which are a combo of regular doubles and suites Housing is guaranteed all four years

RENOVATIONS There’s a fairly new artificial turf football field The campus center was recently renovated More renovations are underway
