2. 2013 Purpose This presentation covers the following aspects of the 12000TD loading ramp : Description Functionality Step Heights and Slopes Step and Ramp Handles Step and Ramp Lighting Step and Ramp CCTV

3. 2013 Description The 12000TD is fitted with twin ramps to facilitate the loading of passengers and cargo. The port side ramp is stepped and is intended for passenger use. The starboard side ramp is sloped to enable the loading of wheeled cargo cages, typically ‘York’ trollies as used by the Royal Mail. When no cargo is being loaded, the starboard side ramp can be used by passengers

4. 2013 Functionality 1 Both the ramps and their clamshell doors are raised and lowered by electric actuators. Actuators have a manual hand-wheel option in the event of failure. The ramps seal against the hull to maintain cushion pressure. Each ramp has a clamshell door, and a weathertight door. Each ramp has a pair of fail safe latches, i.e. mechanically latched and electrically unlatched. The weathertight doors are opened and closed manually.

5. 2013 Functionality 2 Deployment The pilot releases the latching. The crew see the ‘ramps unlatched’ indication and press the ‘lower’ button. All actions are sequenced from this one button. The clamshells open first, then the ramps lower to physical stops on the craft. The folded steps, and extending ramp sections are then manually deployed.

6. 2013 Functionality 3 Deployment The sloped ramp folds out and is then extended. The stepped section folds out. Handles as required will fold out. Both sloped ramp and step touch the ground and enable passengers or crew to disembark without treading on the craft skirt.

7. 2013 Functionality 4 Retraction Retraction is the reverse process. Cushion pressure integrity is maintained by the ramp seal. Weather integrity is maintained by the weathertight doors. The clamshell doors are in effect styling and aerodynamic aids. Pilot will receive a ‘door latched’ signal

8. 2013 Step Heights and Slopes The sill height of the doors is at 328mm which is above the DWL. The slope is circa 9°. Each step height is approximately 176mm on the folding section and 150mm on the powered section. Minimum clear width is 760mm

9. 2013 Ramp Handles It is envisaged that there will be a mix of fixed and folding handles. Fixed handles on bulkheads Fold out handles

10. 2013 Ramp Lighting There will be floodlights in both ramp area, and the general apron area lit by lights on the wheelhouse Twin floodlights in clamshells pointing down onto ramp Possibility for area floodlight from wheelhouse

11. 2013 Ramp CCTV Each ramp area will have a CCTV camera. These will be displayed and recorded in the wheelhouse CCTV
