2. 2 “Engineering Systems” Track - Wednesday June 18 Engineering systems is a new interdisciplinary field of study involving technology, management and the social sciences. It encompasses activities in the following areas: Systems Engineering, Technology and Policy; Engineering Management, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Systems and Decision Analysis, Operations Research, Manufacturing, Product Development, and Industrial Engineering. The first session of this track will feature an overview of the emerging field of engineering systems and a recent survey of universities, with discussion of results. The second session will address the relationship of systems engineering and engineering systems, and describe and discuss how this new field is impacting university education and research. In the third session, TU Delft will discuss its education and research programs in engineering systems.
