1 Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and KINDI Laboratory for Computing Research Joint Seminar The seminar will present the results of an Artificial Intelligence Research Group. The Bioinformatics, Intelligent Systems and Educational Technology (BISITE) research group brings together a group of researchers interested primarily in the development and application of intelligent computer systems to various types of problems. BISITE is characterized by multi- disciplinary and inter-university. It is multidisciplinary by the member’s diverse profile: computer scientists, biologists, chemists, physicists, oceanographers and economists. The work of this group has a very practical component, although the theoretical aspects, necessary in any research, are not forgotten. Technological innovation also applies to the education and teaching fields, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The group has developed many projects using organization based multiagent systems technology (http://bisite.usal.es/en/research/research- line/artificial-intelligence) that will be presented during the seminar. Innovation and research are behind the projects developed by the group. Innovation means finding solutions, which come from ideas that are turned into products, services or processes, which allow us to obtain an economic benefit, and thus give us a competitive advantage over our competitors. However having good ideas is not a guarantee of success. One must know how to manage them through a team of competent people and management methods to guide us in the innovation process. The innovation strategic management of the Research Group will also be outlined. Some innovative applications (http://bisite.usal.es/en/apps) developed by the group will be presented as well as the spin-off created by the group as a result of some research and innovation projects..
