Students will write for a variety of purposes and audiences using the Standard English conventions of grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation. Students will utilize various English ACT strategies to enhance grammar skills. Students will use context clues to determine the meaning of unknown words. Students will understand persuasive text by reading an argumentative text and drawing generalizations and conclusions about people and ideas. Students will identify author’s main and counterarguments and use the text to support the author’s assertions.
