1. The Believer is to walk Carefully and strictly…
Psalm 1:1-3 1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.

Ephesians 5:17-21 TD Jakes comments on this verse in his book “6 Pillars from Ephesians” “Thanksgiving is the beginning of our praise and worship. It is also the beginning of morality and forgiveness. When you are truly thankful for another person’s life before the Lord, you won’t want to engage in fornication with that person. When you are truly thankful for what the Lord has given and what the Lord has given to others, you won’t covet what others have. When you are truly thankful for your own salvation from sin and for the freedom God gives you not to sin, you won’t want to engage in sin. When you are truly thankful for the goodness and blessing of God, you won’t want to engage in filthy behavior. When you are truly thankful for your eternal life and for your salvation from eternal death, you won’t want to make light of God’s mercy and forgiveness.” 21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Ephesians 5:22-24 22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 1. To submit is God’s will. In fact, it is a commandment 2. To submit is God’s order for the family

1 Corinthians 11:11,12 "Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God"

Galatians 3:28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus" a) The husband is the head of the wife b) The great pattern for the wife to follow is Christ and the Church c) The husband is the savior of the body just as Christ is the Savior of the Church
12
Ephesians 5:22-24 3. To submit is a spiritual mystery
1. The love which the husband is to have for his wife is the very love God has (AGAPE) a) The husband’s love involves being set apart and cleansed b) The husband’s love involves having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing c) The husband’s love involves being holy and without blemish

Ephesians 5:22-24 Ephesians 5:25
"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it" 1 Peter 3:7 "Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered"
14
Ephesians 5:22-24 2. The love which the husband is to have for his wife is the very same love he has for his own body 3. The love which the husband is to have for his wife is to be the that will stir him to leave his parents and be joined to his wife
15
Ephesians 5:25-29 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
