Vision The technology vision of Semmes Elementary is to utilize technological devices to enhance “anywhere, anytime” student learning through the use of Bring Your Own Device, known as miDevice in the Mobile County Public School System.

Approved Devices iPad Mini, air, iPad: 1 st generation and up Apple iPod Touch Apple iPhone 3Gs and up Android devices with Android Version 2.3 or newer (Kindle, Nook, etc.) Android phones 2.3 or higher Tablets running windows 8, Laptops **All devices must have headphones.**

Devices Not Allowed Pandigital Novel Nabi, Nabi 2 Nintendo DS, DSi, PSP, or other portable gaming devices

Consequences for Violations Restriction of device usage or activity (teacher discretion) Principal/parent/teacher/student conference Serious violations will be subject to the MCPSS discipline policy

Parent/Student Responsibilities Return signed miDevice Parent/Student User Agreement Return signed MCPSS Internet Acceptable Use and Safety Policy All devices clearly labeled with student name All necessary apps will be loaded by student or parent at home Devices must be charged at home before coming to school daily

Launch Date Monday, October 20 th 5 th grade students may bring their devices on this date Student/Parent Agreement must be turned in before bringing a device
