Infant Mortality Rate The number of babies that die out of every 1,000 A baby has to be born alive and die before age one (1) to count. Is a baby with health problems more likely to survive in a country with better hospitals?

Literacy Rate The percentage of adults in a country that can read… …in the language of their country, at a sixth grade level

Life Expectancy The number of year someone is expected to live Usually women live a few years longer then men

Developed Country An area of the world that is technologically advanced, and has generally evolved through both economic and demographic transitions. More Wealthy

Developing Country A country that is changing from uneven growth to more constant economic conditions and has relatively high rates of infant mortality and illiteracy, and relatively low rates of life expectancy and energy use. Less Wealthy
