3. Objective: Chemical/Physical Change: Differentiate  The learner will be able to distinguish between a physical and chemical change.

Examples of signs that are both Chemical & physical  Gas production (can be a phase change or a new substance)  Color change (can hold in a color like a mixture or it could be a new substance)  Heat given off (simply hotter or could be burning to give off heat)  Smell (can be expanding out or brand new from a new substance)

5. Both of these examples are making a gas. Which one is physical and which is chemical? H 2 O in a liquid going into H 2 O as a gas is a PHYSICAL Change because it still H 2 O Two different chemicals are being added to create a new gas or bubbles. Like Baking Soda & Vinegar making bubbles is a CHEMICAL change
