US Navy Enlisted Medical Specialties US Navy IDC Serves on surface ships, submarines and ground units within the Navy and Marine Corps Highly trained in A&P, physical examination & medical diagnosis and treatment Applicants must be senior Corpsman (E5-E7) with heavy experience in patient care Deploy on multiple platforms both ashore and afloat Provide Primary Care under indirect supervision of a physician Monitor medical inventory, readiness, and assess material condition of all medical equipment Direct advisor to Commanding Officers on status of medical readiness and ongoing medical issues throughout his/her command

US Navy Enlisted Medical Specialties FIELD MEDICAL TRAINING BATTALION Field Medical Training Battalion (FMTB), where sailors bound for service with the USMC operating forces earn the NEC HM-8404, Field Medical Service Technician 16-week rigorous program provides specialized training in advanced emergency medicine & the fundamentals of Marine Corps life, while emphasizing physical conditioning, small arms familiarity, and basic battlefield tactics.

US Navy Enlisted Medical Specialties Fleet Marine Force (FMF) Corpsman FMF Hospital Corpsmen wear the uniforms of the USMC while on duty with the Marines Hospital Corpsmen can further specialize to become Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman (SARC) –Usually found in both the FMF Recon, Marine Division Recon and MARSOC units –Trained and skilled in combat, including combatant swimming, opened/closed circuit scuba diving, military free-fall and amphibious operations. –Act as advisers regarding health and injury prevention, and treat illnesses from decompression sickness as well as other conditions requiring hyperbaric treatment
