Resources Comments Samples  When accessing articles for research, often there is an Abstract for the article, but the full article is unavailable.  One year embargo on journals can lead to unacceptable delays in accessing emerging research.  Expansion of the e-book collection is essential.  my grad students are in agreement with me -ebooks are terrible for serious research.

Collections Comments Availability of new books in print is inadequate. we need to replace basic DVDs that have gone missing * Please make an effort to maintain physical printed books and journals. I realize that many "forward thinking" librarians are perversely determined to render themselves obsolete by pulping their collections and converting to e-books, digital magazines, and electronic ephemera, but this is a slippery slope toward turning Alkek into a gargantuan student lounge. Faculty should be allowed to check out regular items from the Wittliff collection otherwise unavailable

20. Online Tools Comments The website could use some tweaking. Once I get beyond the library homepage, how to use the resources gets confusing. A newsletter about how to best use the library website would be helpful. It could be a monthly letter showing students what tool on the web is useful for finding info within the website. The website looks like a completely different website when using mobile devices.

21. Now the Positive My favorite part of the library is the wide selection of print books that are available to students, especially the facsimile copies of old texts that are long out of print. Please do not allow budget cutbacks to compromise the stacks in favor or more electronic resources. Books will always be needed. Alkek provides me with many features that help me prepare.
