Introduction - A scientist that studies microorganisms is called a microbiologist. - You and your teammates will become microbiologists. - Your goal is to do research and activities that will help you answer the questions below in a PowerPoint format. The PowerPoint will be presented to your mentor and posted on the Wiki. The BIG Question: How can the world benefit from both helpful and harmful microorganisms? Why should we continue to research these microbes? Table of Contents
5
Task Earn your Junior Microbiology Diploma Roles: be part of a group of specialists Virologists, Bacteriologists, Mycologists or Parasitologists. Roles Scientist Expert Harmful Expert Helpful Expert Microbe Expert Present a PowerPoint about your findings and why your team should be funded for further research Evaluation/Rubric Table of Contents

Junior Microbiology Diploma Go to the following website. http://www.microbeworld.org On the upper left corner click “about microbiology”. http://www.microbeworld.org Go to the first link “what is a microbe”. In this part read every section and subsection and summarize your readings by posting the important data as a Wiki (pictures and videoclips are welcomed). Go to the following website and do the activity. Print your table when you are done. Get 100% on the quiz. http://www.childrensuniversity.manchester.ac.uk/in teractives/science/microorganisms/whatandwhere. swf http://www.childrensuniversity.manchester.ac.uk/in teractives/science/microorganisms/whatandwhere. swf Table of Contents
