The exercise  Imagine you are approached by the author at the beginning of the production process.  What work needs to be carried out and by whom, to bring this project to completion?  Which tasks involve image management (in the broadest sense)?  Jot down ideas on a blank sheet of paper in two columns – task and person to do it Rough Guide to Image Management CILIP, 31 March 2010

Then  Taking those activities which involve image management, think of the competencies needed for each.  List these, then group in logical relationships, where possible  Using the wheel diagram, note on the outer circles the competencies identified, keeping related ones together Rough Guide to Image Management CILIP, 31 March 2010

5. And finally  Image yourself at the centre of the wheel. Mark a point on the axis of each competency in indicating your current level of confidence in doing that task  Then join the dots.
