3. Family and childhood Augustine was his father was his mother. He grew up in Westmoreland county Virginia. He went to school until he was eleven. George liked math and the outdoors.

4. Adult Years and Contributions He married Martha Custis. He adopted two children. He was surveyor at first then joined the Army fighting for the king. In 1763 he lead the Virginia Army against the French. 1775 he was chosen to lead the American Army against the British. 1793 he became the first president.

5. Major Accomplishments War hero and first president of the U.S.A. freed our country from Britain.

6. Interesting Facts He was the first president He was a surveyor George only went to school until he was eleven years old.

7. Final Years He died on December 14th, 1799 in his home, Mount Vernon. He got ill after getting caught in a storm.
