Rubiks Twist A Reverse Engineering of My Favorite Physical Object

The Puzzle The Rubiks Twist suffers from looseness and rattling after only days of use. On a secondary note, the colors do not match up when completed, though this may be impossible, other than the patterns which currently occur on two sides of the completed ball.

Design Brief Client –Rubiks Target –Puzzle Loving Kids Problem Statement –To redesign the spring holding the Rubiks Twist pieces together to be tighter, so to prevent looseness due to use. Design Statement –Design, test, manufacture, and mass produce a tighter Rubiks Twist. Constraints –All other pieces must remain the same size –Must not add any new pieces –Must still be able to rotate puzzle with relative ease

Before the Redesign The grey triangles seen in the full object are exact replicas of the black one, except for color. The same goes for the plates, where blue is shown above.
