2  Jota (a stew with cabbage, beans, potatoes and meat)  Bograč (a stew with 3 different kinds of meat and potatoes)  Idrijski žlinkrofi (hand made noodles from the town Idrija)

3  Prekmurska gibanica (a rich cake with 8 different layers)  Pustni krofi (doughnuts we eat during the arnival time)  Soška postrv (a trout from the river Soča)

5  WE NEED  500 g sour cabbage  300 g brown beans  300 g potatoes  1 onion  300 g pork neck  100 g dry Bacon  2 tablespoons oil  30 g flour  1 spoon tomato sauce  Salt  Pepper  Parsley  Garlic  Laurel leaf

6  We put the beans overnight in cold water.  We put the sauerkraut in the container. Add smoked pork neck, a Laurel leaf and a few grains of pepper; salt if necessary. Cover with cold water and boil and cook for about 45 minutes.  Potatoes are cut into pieces. Pour them with water, and bring to the boil. Cook less than 15 minutes.  Slice the bacon. First we peal the onion and cut it  Then we put beans, cabage, potatoes, and tomato sauce in a container salt it and bring it to boil.  We cook it for 10 min.  At the end we make roux and pour it in the container.  We can also ad some water that we cooked the beans in to finish it.

8  650 g wheat white flour  Salt  3 dl milk  Sugar  Yeast  6 psc egg yolk  Butter  Oil  Rum  Lemon peel  Marmalade

9  We put the flour in a bowl and make a hole in the midle. We add salt on the side.  We mix 4 spoons of warm milk and sugar, then add yeast and flour. All together is poured into the hole and left for yeast to rise.  We whisk egg yoak and sugar then add melted butter 2 spoons of oil, rum, lemon peel and milk.  The egg mixture is poured in the bowl. Then we knead the dough, and leave to rest for 1 hour.  We roll the dough one finger thick and leave to rise for 10 more minutes.  Cut the circles and put them on a warm board cover them and leave to rise for 30 minutes.  Put the oil into the pot and then we fry the dougnuts 2 minutes on each side.  When they are ready we inject marmalade in the middle and spread the powdered sugar on top.
