The Social Gamer Oliver Gabe, Jonathan Shaw & Michael Parker

Who? - For gamers. What? - Gamers stuck on certain levels in games. When? - Any time. Where? - Any platform. Why? -To help gamers stop ‘Rage Quitting’.

Problem: When people are stuck on levels in games, they sometimes can ‘Rage Quit’ and leave the game unfinished. We want to reduce this, so that gamers can gain the full experience of the game. We also want to make it that people can get the most out of their games and enjoy them

Question: How can you gain the full experience out of your games, enjoy your games as fully as possible without getting annoyed at them?

Key Insight Statements Help people who are stuck in games Advice forums and playthroughs One-to-one help which is easy to follow

Mini-Elevator Pitch Our team, JontCorp, is developing an app to help gamers stuck on games by creating a user friendly forums. We aim to make the forums a more one-on- one idea as we want the person to get really helpful and reliable advice. We also want to have gamer recommendations and news to try and help kickstart new games. We try to make our app simple and easy to use.

User Profiles Carl - “I always want to learn more” Amit - “I suck at games so I need help :)” Mike - “Everyone needs help sometimes”

Competition and other apps Appy Gamer - A news app that shows all the latest games and reviews IGN Forums - People can post about older games that they need help with Most competition is gaming magazines but we hope to create a technological version

MVP Feedback · The colours make it easy to read. · What do the things in the top right of page do? · Possibly pointless ‘Games section’ -Add as parts of forum. -People can add games to the section. · Clear/specific · A lot left as blank space/grey · Looks like more of a website/ tablet layout, too busy for a phone Other than that it is good and clear, on a computer. Not suitable for any kind of portable electronic items ; phones, tablets · Would this not be better as a website? The colours make the page easy to read, which is why we made them. The buttons/items at the top are meant to a) Change the colour of the page if you do not like the original colour scheme, but made with colours that stand out and work well together and b) the ON/OFF button is meant so that you can turn off the website auto updating polls so that it is not constantly running and taking up bandwidth. Stuff is left as blank/white because it is still a mock-up and we don’t know what else we would want on the homepage yet, maybe an introduction. This version is the downloadable/website version of TSG and is not meant for a phone/mobile, which is why it was designed how it is. The point of the games section is so that you can browse a list of games with sub-categories for different consoles so you can look for and vote for new games, with reviews and Easter eggs.

FLow of App Home Help Someone Ask for Help Forums Reviews List of people who need help All game reviews Specific Person Specific Review

This is the slide out bar. It is a menu that you slide from the right when you want to access the other pages. It is designed to be easy and effective. This is the homepage. It has the featured video of the week, and news on games and the forums on it. We can also advertise on it aswell

This is the page where the user asks for help on their games, and is the most useful part of our app. you can ask about any game on this page, and there are platfrom filter systems. This is the page where you can search for various questions that people have asked, you can then answer them and raise your rating.

This is the part of the forum where you can see your own posts, analyse them and see how many people have replied and are following it. Following is where you will be automatically updated when the post is commented on. This screen is the review section of our app. People can write reviews on certain games, informing people on how good a game which they are about to buy is. This means that people can recommend certain games, cutting out the disappointment of purchasing a bad game!

Feasibility We would say that our app is feasible as it is not an app that is hard to design It will be hard to make sure that all the aspects of the app work and that the app is able to flow easily

Business After asking people, most people said that they would not want to pay for help but would prefer adverts. This means that for our app to make money we are going to need advertising and possible sponsorship from developers of games so we can encourage people to use the app

Advertising We will advertise our app : In magazines. In gaming websites. In apps with advertisements, such as Skype and Twitch. Using posters and advertisements on the streets.
