Contents Internet safety What we teach in Computing for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 Different kinds of Computing What you can do to help
3
Internet safety We start with esafety lessons. In KS1 we do talk to the children in general terms about staying safe on computers – never sharing information, telling an adult if they are not sure about something they have seen – when we are using the internet. If they complete a Google search – for a picture perhaps – the teacher will be present and will have checked the searches before (i.e. elephants) In Key Stage 2 this is covered in more detail. Please re-enforce these messages at home.
4
Internet safety At KS1 we often use Espresso. If the internet is used we have always visited the site before to check for pop-ups etc. The school firewall is very thorough and regularly maintained and updated. Children are not left unsupervised.
