4 Frequent Non-Compliant Issues 1.Failure to secure a Pennsylvania Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) report or FBI letter in compliance with state regulations 2. Lesson plans and calendars lack evidence of adequate instruction of Act 14 curriculum objectives 3. Lack of evidence to support a minimum of 16 hours of instruction in the 5 required content areas NATCEP Updates

5 Failure to secure a Pennsylvania CHRI or FBI report in compliance with state regulations 1.CHRI obtained during the year prior to enrolling 2.If not a resident of Pennsylvania for the last two (2) consecutive years, a PA-CHRI and FBI letter of eligibility are required 3. 14 Maintaining NATCEP Approval NATCEP approval is valid for only 2 years; there is no re-approval An onsite compliance review is required to be eligible to gain a new 2-year approval Timely submission of the Self-Study Booklet and requested supplemental documentation is required for the PDE advisors to prepare for and expedite the onsite review NATCEP Updates

15 Maintaining NATCEP Approval Timely response with remedies to the Statement of Findings is required to maintain approval Beginning January 1, 2016, any repeat non- compliance findings, or delays in submitting the Self-Study Booklet or remedies to the Statement of Findings may result in PDE beginning the process to withdraw NATCEP approval Maintaining NATCEP Approval
