3 SAHARA DESERT FACTS It is the 3rd biggest desert in the world measuring at 3.629 millions square mile. The average temperature of the Sahara Desert is 86 degrees Fahrenheit. The highest temperature in the summer is 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The average rainfall ranges from 100mm to 250mm. The Sahara covers 10 countries. The Desert is located in Northern Africa. Better pack the sunscreen!

4 THE NILE RIVER FACTS The Nile is the longest river in the world measuring at 4,258 miles long. The source of the Nile River is Lake Victoria. It is 26-36 feet deep. It was used for farming purposes. The Nile River runs through 11 countries. Don’t go swimming in the water! There are alligators in the water!

5 MT. EVEREST FACTS Mt. Everest is the tallest mountain in the world measuring at 29,028 feet tall. It is located in the Mahalangur Mountain Range in Nepal. There are 2 main climbing routes the Nepal side and the Tibetan Side. The most common rocks found on Mt. Everest are granite, limestone, garnet, and schist. Mt. Everest was formed about 60 million years ago. Better bundle up! It’s cold out there…unless you’re from Hoth.

6 AMAZON RAINFOREST FACTS The Amazon is the biggest rainforest in the world measuring at 2.124 million square miles. It covers 9 countries. There is estimated 16,000 tree species in the Amazon Rainforest. It is located in upper South America. The Amazon’s precipitation per year is 80-120 inches. Watch out for dangerous animals!
