3. Water Water is essential for a healthy life. The average human cannot survive more than 7 days without water. Developed countries like the U.S. take clean water for granted.

4. Water Clean water in some developing countries is a luxury. Some countries have ongoing issues with sustaining clean water for their natives to consume. Waterborne diseases is a key concern for these countries due to contaminated water.

5. Cholera Cholera is one of the most common waterborne diseases. Cholera is caused by the bacteria Vibrio Cholerae. Once this bacteria is ingested through contaminated water or food it causes an acute diarrheal infection.

6. Cholera On January 12, 2010, Haiti was struck with a 7.0 magnitude earthquake. The death toll averaged 310,000.

7. Cholera The destruction of this country lead to poor sanitation and minimal ways to get basic necessities. The country was in turmoil as the world tried there best to help.

8. Cholera This aftermath of this deadly earthquake made way for a cholera outbreak. The death toll reached 9,000. This was the first cholera outbreak in Haiti.

9. Cholera Cholera is a treatable disease if caught on time and can be prevented. Many steps have been made to end this outbreak in Haiti.

10. Cholera Hydration and antibiotics are crucial to treating cholera. Proper hygiene such as hand washing is needed. Most importantly maintaining a clean water supply can prevent cholera.

11. Cholera No one should have to drink dirty water. It is important that proper water supplies are placed. Teaching should be provided to stress the importance of sanitation and contamination. Cleaning programs such as pipelines and filters in homes are needed.

12. Cholera Haiti’s outbreak is our outbreak. As well as other countries dealing with cholera. There are various programs and companies that strive to promote clean water for all. We must invest in these companies whether it is time or money.

13. Cholera < Clean Water Clean water should not be a privilege but a right. It is a necessity for a healthy life.

14. Cholera < Clean Water The goal should be that all people, regardless of socioeconomic status, should have access to clean water.

15. Cholera < Clean Water I pray for a day that cholera would be eradicated. For everyone that has access to clean water to drink and bathe be grateful. Let us remember our neighbors and do what we can to provide a cleaner planet. WE ARE THE WORLD WE LIVE IN!!!
