OEM12c Infrastructure I will go through what is happening in SOA CoE with respect to Cloud As you are aware.. Every business in GE either moved or in the process of migrating few applications into Cloud This is happening for not only simple we b applications.. In fact at corporate few teams are working on migrating ERPs and enterprise standard applications into Cloud to get the benefits of Cloud such as .. Costs related to hosting, path upgrades, enhancements High uptime and reduced outage due to cloud resiliency and whole commoditization aspect of it by keeping the value add benefits With all these going on.. As a system integrator, SOA CoE should plan to review current environments to identify the impacts and align with business trends to unlock cloud benefits Based on current alignment with business, SOACoE approach will vary based on location of source and target systems Next few slides, I will cover current status on Fusion, Kronos and iPass approaches then will dive into SOA Suite on AWS demo to address the current challenges we are facing in SOACoE development needs

OEM & SOA | monitoring approach
Multiple layers used for each Functional pillar Pillar dashboard to give comprehensive view Grouping … Layer level metrics ≠ true solution availability Dashboard to allow identify pillars with issues Aggregation … GE solutions span across multiple layers … horizontal monitoring not sufficient Solution: Build one-stop-shop dashboard with drill-downs allowing to id production issues Approach: Review past outages to ensure dashboard captures all potential failure points Landing page App-level view Includes details allowing to narrow down issues: Indicate health status of each integration area Drill down Server-level status / errors & configuration changes Logical grouping of components (e.g. I2C, AP) JVM stats (CPU, memory, DB locks, network wait) Ability to drill to application-level dashboards SOA composite stats (completion%, response time) G Y R 19 8 9

Lessons learned Avoid flood of alerts when main targets are down
Within system dashboard utilize RCA results to exclude symptom incidents To add SOA metrics within system view, personalize component properties SOA Infra Target Name <Target>/Domain_name/server_name/soa-infra SOA Infra Target Type soa_infra Utilize past root cause analysis result while designing the monitoring dashboard 23 8 9
24
OEM enhancement requests
SR: Landing page … … No representation of limited availability SR: Personalization of generic system view … … Landing page personalization is not available SR: Single view for SOA & OSB … … SOA composites & OSB can’t be monitored in single dashboard SR: Incident View … Incidents not rolling up to systems view

Challenges Troubleshoot Performance Problems:
Is it related to computing resources [ cpu, memory, etc...] Is it related to JVM? Is it related to DB ?., if so it is difficult to get the information on DB specifics System capacity designed in 2011 has not kept pace with exponential growth in data (4X growth since 2011) over the last three years Insufficient capacity can lead to : Longer than average response times for individual system components Longer batch completion times Missing SLA windows Intermittent timeouts during processing Resubmission of failed jobs Longer batch completion times Missing SLA windows Oracle Confidential – Internal/Restricted/Highly Restricted

Benefits Gained Ability to drill down the problematic SQL’s
Manage storage efficiently Keys for best performance on SOA: Ensure the B2B tables are purged Ensure the SOA tables are purged Rebuild Indexes on Purge. Fine tune product sql’s on core tables[its ok to tune ., but need to keep track of changes] Checking the SQL plan we can find out if the queires are doing Full Table Scans., and cab be communicate to the DBA to tune the SQL. One example was , we foung 5-10 such sql queries on the core SOA tables taking so long with the increase in the data and we added Index with the help of this plugin. Full Table Scan: B2B_BUSINESS_MESSAGE EDI_EIRS_LOGGING_TB a cusom table etc.. Oracle Confidential – Internal/Restricted/Highly Restricted
38
Benefits Gained :Reports
Out of the box reports using BI Custom Reports using BI System performance reports Ability to schedule weekly, monthly etc.. Very good for planning [Augment HW resources., tuning] Checking the SQL plan we can find out if the queires are doing Full Table Scans., and cab be communicate to the DBA to tune the SQL. One example was , we foung 5-10 such sql queries on the core SOA tables taking so long with the increase in the data and we added Index with the help of this plugin.
