Art The Group of Seven –Members travelled in groups to Northern Ontario and painted rugged northland in an interpretive style, using strong, deep colours. –This ‘impressionism’ was unusual for the time, because people were used to seeing realistic paintings, not interpretation.

Sports ‘Canada’s Golden Age of Sports’ –Canadian athletes won medals and trophies all around the world. –The racing schooner Bluenose was fastest boat of its time. (it is on our dime) –Hockey league (NHL) extremely popular and expanded into the US.
