Destination Imagination DI Parent permission slips and teacher recommendations are due Friday, Sept. 12 th. (They went home today in the Tuesday Folder.) DI Tryouts for 5 th graders are on Wed, September 17 th. Before/After school practice is required. ** Big regional tournament on Feb 28 th – required for team! *Possible State Tournament: April 10 and 11, 2015 *Possible Global Tournament: May 20 – 23, 2015 Any questions regarding DI please ask/see Mr. Bain. Gifted & Talented Nomination Parents who would like to nominate their child to be tested for Klein ISD’s Gifted and Talented program may do so at this time. The referral packet can be picked up by the parent in the front office. The packet is due to Mrs. Murphy, the school counselor, by September 25 th. The students who qualify will begin receiving GT services the next school year. Except for Kindergarteners, who will receive services in March. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Murphy at 832.375.7419.

Attendance & School Hours ATTENDANCE MATTERS!!!! Classwork begins at 8:05 am. Students are tardy at 8:20 am. Please call the attendance office if your child is going to be absent. If your child is absent please bring in a note upon return to school. TRANSPORTATION CHANGES: If you know ahead of time: send a note with your student. Same day: call the front office.

Donations Welcome! Donations of dry erase markers, tissues, and sticky notes are always welcome!!

Help your child succeed. Encourage your child to read. Make sure they are doing their homework daily. Quiz your child on basic math facts (single digit addition, subtraction, multiplication & division). Ask them about what they are learning at school. Celebrate successes!
