Create a timeline of key laws that led to an increase in civil rights. 1968 – Civil Rights Act 1954 - Brown Vs Board This ruling overturned the Plessy vs. Ferguson decision which allowed a “separate but equal” lifestyle. It declared “separate educational facilities are inherently unequal. This helped civil rights because it led to the supreme court asking all public schools to desegregate.
