Do Now List three or more things you did during your day off! In writing, parallelism is a balance within a sentence of similar phrases or clauses that have the same grammatical structure. (What does this mean?) – EX: Susie weeds the garden, cooked dinner, and cleaned the dishes. – EX: I can be healthy by running every day, eating fruits and vegetables, and by beginning to go to sleep at 9 P.M. Using parallelism, write one sentence including the items you listed at the beginning of class.

Quick Write The minister wore the veil as a symbol of “secret sin.” Do you think people are two- faced in our society today? Think of a time when you’ve interacted with someone like this. How did you feel? Use clear examples in your answer (8-10 sentences).
