HAWTHORN FOOTBALL JUMPER
MY FAVOURITE OUTFIT by Jay Sutherland HAWTHORN FOOTBALL JUMPER
2
Where and when I wear it I wear my jumper to the football, and also when I go to football training.
3
Special features The special features are the signatures of the Hawthorn football club players, also the number 23 because it’s my favourite football player, Buddy Franklin. The signatures are special because they are hard to get from the players. The jumper has no sleeves. It is brown and gold vertical stripes. I wear it with my tracksuit pants to football matches and also to football training, sometimes I wear it with my Hawthorn shorts. 23

It is not damaged by sunlight or weather. It dries quickly. It is crisp and resilient when wet or dry. It is easily washed. It does not absorb moisture making it hot and clammy when worn in hot temperatures.

How is polyester made You make polyester from oil and it breaks down into small molecules. When you mix ester and alcohol together the charges make the molecules line up into chains of chrystals that hold together as long fibres.

Interesting Facts about Polyester
British scientists John Whinfield and James Dickson first invented polyester cloth in 1941 in England. After World War 2 was over in 1945, a company called Dupont in the United States brought the rights to make polyester and by 1950 a factory in America began to make it. Since the 1960’s polyester has been the cheapest cloth. Almost half of the worlds clothing is made from polyester. Because polyester is made out of oil, polyester clothing will get more expensive as we run out of oil and oil gets more expensive.
