1 Why Choose? GCSE music will suit you if you: If you enjoy listening to, composing and performing music Enjoy being creative and have imaginative ideas If you enjoy using music software (Logic) to create music

2 Course Structure

3 Coursework: 60% Performing: One SOLO performance and One GROUP performance Composing: Two compositions using Logic for Mac OR traditional instruments

4 Listening Exam: 40% Knowledge and study of set works in FOUR Areas of Study: 1. Western classical music 1600- 1899 2. Music in the 20 th century 3. Popular music 4. World Music This exam is 1hour 30 min and will take place in the summer of Year 11. You will listen to extracts of set-works and answer questions on them.
