10 Why study Math/CS at UW? The Faculty of Mathematics is the largest centre for mathematical, computational, and statistical education in the world Hundreds of courses offered: specialization, breadth, challenge Innovative, flexible programs Distinguished, dedicated professors State-of-the-art computer equipment available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Own your ideas – Intellectual Property Rights There’s more…

11 Why study Math/CS at UW? Relatively small class sizes Tutorial centres in the Math building and in residence The world’s largest co-operative education program gives you relevant workplace experience Our reputation – ranked in the top 25 globally for both mathematics and computer science And the most important reason… The students: bright, dedicated, eager to learn and grow – in their chosen field, in other fields, in extracurricular activities, as part of society

12 Math in Europe Unique opportunity to live in Europe for 3 months: - One month in Rome, Italy. - Two months in Montpellier, France. Take three University of Waterloo Mathematics courses: - Taught by University of Waterloo Mathematics Professors. - Identical courses with a grade associated with them. - Similar pace and structure as in Waterloo. Classes will be scheduled strategically: - Study time will be optimized. - Experiencing the local culture will be encouraged. - Local travel within Europe will be enabled. Costs: - Program Fee of approximately $7,500. This covers 3 months of accommodation and meals, an elective French course in Montpellier and 3 trips: Venice and Florence, Barcelona and Figueres, Paris. - Airfare of approximately $1,200. - Other costs: Registration in your program as a University of Waterloo Undergraduate taking 3 courses in the Faculty of Mathematics.
