The story of Clay Sizemore and his family is the story of anyone who ever grew up wanting to belong and wanting something to call their own. After his mother is killed in front of him, Clay gathers all the best people he can to make himself his own family and his own story. This novel is an ode to storytelling, to family, and to heritage.
