CSU Social Media Policy

Adopted December 21, 2010 “This policy will apply only to social media accounts created for the express purpose of officially representing Colorado State University groups, departments, programs, entities, etc. and will not apply to private social media accounts. University employees acting in an individual capacity should exercise caution to communicate clearly that they are not acting in a representative capacity, or expressing the views of the University.”

Don’t create a social media account unless you have the time (and information) to share on a regular basis (post and monitor). (This is the same philosophy as any outreach communication material.)
8
Facebook Fan Page vs Group ▫Not allowed to create a personal profile for an organization ▫CSU policy does not recognize personal account
9
Facebook Groups ▫Not public, ‘insiders’ only Fan Page ▫Better for communication with the public www.facebook.com/pages/create.php
