3 What are elements of a good lesson? A favorite lesson you recall from your K-12 years –What jumps out at you? –Share highlights –Make a list of high points for good lessons your group shared Visual Ranking lesson activity

4 Deconstruct lessons What makes a good lesson? Looking at its parts will tell us a great deal about elements of lesson design. Form teams – see next slide Share highlights of lesson you have dissected. Suggest ideas to make the lesson even more effective

5 Analyze a lesson Do this— –Determine groups of three or four. –Choose one member to collect a lesson sample. –A second member takes notes as the group discusses the lesson. –Member three is the media reporter for the group. –Member four is the time keeper. (You have fifteen minutes to discuss the lesson highlights.) Make sure team reviews our VR list to measure lesson success.
